Mamba 25 strange behaviour - very strange
Got my new futaba FASST radio and futaba recommends 6V for the reciever so i plugged in one of my small UBEC units and the MAMBA powers on right after I plug in the battery no matter in which position the on/off switch is. the switch works as without UBEC it behaves normally.
i have same wiring as in emaxx and Quark has no problems with it and powers only ig i switch the switch to ON. (servo works all the time as UBEC supplies the power to reciever) only the signal and ground wires go from mamba to reciever some evil magic. i can of course put on/off switch between reciever and UBEC but this is very strange. what gives signal to mamba to power on? |
You have to disable the ESC's BEC by removing the red wire from the throttle cable. Since your UBEC is 6v and the ESC BEC is 5v, the UBEC is powering the ESC to some degree. The Mamba Max does the same thing. Just remove the red wire and you'll be golden.

Well, that's weird then. It sounds like the ESC is getting ~6v power from something. Do you have any clear pics of the setup?

no pics yet as i have to clean up the wiring thanks to the UBEC switch but it's like this
LIPO ->powerpoles MAMBA -> only white/black wire -> reciever ........|......................................... ..........................| ........|......................................... ..........................| ........UBEC-------------------------------------------------- .... are just for formating the post of course servo to reciever and motor to mamba the UBEC is soldered to mamba side connector (powerpoles) same setup is in my maxx with quark and no problems (different ubec but this cant be the problem i think) i dropped mail to Castle Creations maybe its a "feature" if the BEC is disabled |
