Brushless sounds funny?...

Well I got my ss5800 in the mail today. I plugged it in and hooked up a battery just to test the motor since all of my parts arent here yet. It sounds really fast, but about halfway through the rpm band it seems to sound louder, then you pass a certain point and it quiets down again. Anyone else experience this? It isnt a very big difference but probably easy to notice with the motor not installed in a transmission of any kind.

Did you tested it unloaded?

Is it a nice smooth beeping kind of sound?

I think it's not a good idea to rev a motor up too high without load.

My novak does the same. It's normal. Even brushed motors do that.

I wont judge the sound until the rest of my parts get here to put the truck together. It was probably not a great idea to rev it up real hard with no load to push, so I wont play with it anymore till its mounted on something. If it is messed its always got the warranty for 120 days, im sure i will abuse the hell out of it before that time period is up and force any kind of problem to show itself

Don't worry, mine always hit that certain spot where it sounded kinda bad too. For the year and a half I had it, and then I sold it off, and still no problems.
