nice work, but put more heatshrink over the motor/esc plugs, they could short out like this.:026:

Andersen 04.27.2007 08:38 AM

I have just been driving arround in backyard. It goes realy well, but the esc and motor gets very hot. The 2 fans doesn´t seem to be enough.

Does anyone have ideas how to put more cooling to it ???

zeropointbug 04.27.2007 12:14 PM

Yah, looks pretty nice. I was going to say this too, cover up those exposed wires! :002:

What do you call hot? Do you have a temp gun? It looks like you're running 4S, is that right?

The Quark esc has a reputation for needing help keeping it cool. It looks like you don't have any heatsinking on it. It needs it. Fans are nice, but won't take the place of good heatsinking. As for the motor, get an accurate temp on it. I don't know for sure, but that motor may be a bit on the small side for your truck. I see that you're running those big tires and wheels on your truck. Those are hard to get turning. A 1515 may have been a better choice. How much does your truck weigh.

mind you; 50 degree C feels like burning your hands allready. What may look burning hot to you, is cool for electronics.

Serum 04.27.2007 12:49 PM

Sweet and sexy truck bytheway!

AAngel 04.27.2007 01:07 PM

Yeah, you really need to get a temp on the motor. The "touch" test won't tell you anything of use.

Andersen 04.28.2007 05:15 AM

I´m running 4s. I´m about to change the tires. I will get the proline Road Rage instead. And I will get the heatsink for the Quark from RC-Monster next time i order.

I don´t have a temp gun. I only put my fingers on the Quark and it felt very hot. Not like burning a hole in my finger, but more - OK this is hot.

I am personally not too keen on the proline road rages. tried them in truck size, 40 size, and they seem to lack of grip. Try some HPI phaltlines, which are pretty sexy for an onroad tire. (17mm though) the roadrages are rather heavy too. and they balloon like nothing else.

Andersen 04.28.2007 08:33 AM

I´m open for any suggestions that can make my E-Revo better :-)

Serum 04.28.2007 08:35 AM

If you want it for running up and down the street, the HPI phaltline wheels are the way to go IMO..

Andersen 04.28.2007 08:42 AM

I mostly run in gravel/dirt - not sure what is best for that ?? But for the street I will look at the HPI phaltline.

Serum 04.28.2007 08:45 AM

Gravel and dirt;

i would take the new proline baldlands, they come with moulded foams. I am going to try a set of the GRP truggy wheels.

Andersen 04.28.2007 08:51 AM

I have been thinking of the badlands. Are they standard revo wheel size ?
