help w/ gearing a lehner

ok when i get my mgm 80 n lehner 5300 what type of gearing should i start off with? any sugestions

Gear it similar to a 10 or 12 turn brushed motor to start with and adjust from there.

Where are you going to use the setup first? then gear it as a standard brushed motor(as you would with a 9-10T motor) then you can gear it higher from that point. The 5300 will deliver you much more torque than a traditional brushed motor, but its better to treat it as a brushed motor at the beginning and when you feel that it needs to be faster just use larger pinions or smaller spurs and remember not to over do it.

If you have the manual for your vehicle, it should have some recomendations. What motor were you running before? What gearing?

What vehicle is this?

stampede

Start with a 10 - 12 tooth pinion on the stock spur gear, assuming you have stock size tires.
