Welcome to the boards!

Well the way I see it is this way, you already bought the CVDs, install them and let us know ;) I've had pretty good luck so fair with off brand CVDs except for the center shafts. I couldn't find one that fit right. So I run MIPs for centers. If you don't have CVD centers....get some. My titans would rip stock center shafts with just 4200mah packs. There is no telling what my HV Novak would do to a set of stock centers.

yeah, i think it should be ok, but im running 7 cells on my emaxx atm (titan motors) and it seems that the rear wheel drive shafts are more twisted than the rear center drive shaft

Welcome to the forums LEX!

Do you have a link to the CVD's you bought?

they look alright, and seeming as the hv maxx system isnt as powerful that the other popular brand brushless systems for mt's, i thought i'd take a chance with em, but the price tag was very appealing most of all :027:

I was looking to purchase the same CVD's, how have they been so far?

#1) Unlimited Engineering
#2) MIP
#3) Depends who you ask, I say Vantage

Most others are made out of a steel that would be better suited for making cans for canned vegetables!

Thanks for the quick reply, but curious, what are those 3 cvd's made of? Hardened steel?

ClodMaxx 06.07.2007 05:38 PM

1) UE centers are titanium dogbones, and they have titanium front and back cvds... but i would recommend their hardened steel version. the titanium isn't as strong, but it is lighter. and more expensive.
2) MIP - hardened steel, but you have to worry about the pins. they aren't captive.
3) dunno... never heard of those before, but the traxxas steel cvd's look promising.

i would recommend UE cvd's all around. extremely tough stuff. i've had MIP all around, and didn't have any major problems with the front and back, but i had problem after problem with the pins flying out of MIP centers. and that's with the 'bullet proof mod', where the retaining pin has a small valley dremeled for the grub screw to set in.

the rc best ones are hardened steel, they look pretty good but i havnt run them yet, id say theyll hold up with a hv maxx easy

ClodMaxx 06.08.2007 09:20 AM

looks like you answered your own original question :005:

LEX 06.08.2007 09:22 AM

lol, i hadnt bought them when i orgianally asked the question, the cvds just got here

redhatman 06.08.2007 10:50 AM

How long was the shipping? I know they are coming from overseas.. You are in the U.S. right?

Procharged5.0 06.08.2007 11:40 AM
