Neu Motors and Schulze...
 

Hello,

I recently had an email exchange with tech support at Schulze, anyway I tacked on a bonus question to them asking if my Schulze 18.97 Speedo was compatible with the Neu motors and to my surprise they said yes! Can any of you guy confirm or deny this?

Of course they added that they feel the best motor out there is something called a BigMaxximum but I've read some not so good things about these and I'm ready to ditch the cheezy Feiago's I've been burning up er...I mean running. The Neu motors sound great but it seems there are not many ESCs which can drive them.

All I can tell you is that several forum members here are not fond of the Schulze. Several have burned up in spectacular style.

I'll let those that used them personally respond with more specifics.

That Big Maxx that you are talking about is a Plettenberg. It's another four poler and is supposed to be a good motor. Since you're in the states, you'd probably be better off with a Neu.

Hmmm..interesting deduction, since the Plettenberg is 4 pole and the Neu is 4 pole does that mean they are likely compatible?

My Schulze 18.61 blew up in a wonderful fashion, but I still think it was the best speed controller I've used.

Serum has a webpage showing his collection of burnt Schulze controllers. The first one on that page is really bad!

wow those look familar. I actually still have a working schulze 12.97 but dont use it anymore.

I have wasted at least a thousand dollars on those exploding shultz ESCs .I have never had problems on Quark and MGM ESCs that is only my experience I'm sharing with you to save you the money and frustration but it is up to you to decide, In fairness to Shultze i had escs that work with no problems at all. But the exploding ratio to the other esc companies are a lot higher on their side it is only my experience I'm sharing with you others here may have different ones

Yeah, i think i am their biggest fan! but that's not surprising with their superb guarantee/support..

It doesn't surprise me that they do work with the neu motors though.

I talked to plettenberg a few months back;

the plettenbergs can be bought in different winds as well, you need to order them from the factory in germany. the bigmaxx (normally 2200kv, which is a 2 wind) can be ordered in 3 wind, which makes it a ~1700 kv and the maxximum can be bough in 3 wind as well, which makes it a 2200 kv instead of the usual 3100kv.

But if a neu works; who cares for that information.. :)

Good thing is; when you smoke the schulze (or the schulze smokes on you) the quark controller can release you from that german warrantee terror.

imo they make great controllers that are able to run almost any motor you can find. the new 24.150WK that should come out soon will be nice. another nice thing they detect the battery type themselves what makes it a lot easier to switch between nimh and lipo for instance. over all i don't think they burn statistically significant more often than ohter esc. of course i have no data on this (but i read a lot in lots of forums). i admit though that the support especially emailcorrespondence with mr schulze himself is very cumbersome.

nice information about plettenberg motors! thx for that serum.

if was living in the us i would probably chose a quark/neu combo over a schulze/plettenberg.....but only due to availability reasons.

No bashing, just a clear observation.. I didn't called the communication by email cumbersome.. :p;)

Was your schulze replaced under warrantee or did you too need to pay 'investigation' costs?

The fact that the customer is ALWAYS wrong makes me think that he's got a personallity.. Must be an age thing; i've seen him next to Plettenberg; he is about 63 years old i guess.
