Brushless Revo Project!

hey guys,

my friend just bought a revo and i absolutly love it. its so light and amazinly durable. well after disasembling his, i have decided to completly part out my truck. for those of you who havent seen it...here it is. http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...5/DSC00669.JPG

everything is for sale except tranny and 9918. motor is 10L chassis is ext g-maxx. pm me if your interested. well on to my plan...

i am going to run 12 cells because i want to keep the weight down as much as i can. probley an 8L motor. after parting out my truck, i hope to buy some lipos. im thinking polyquest 2s packs. the revo is a very strong base to work from. i love the look of dafs evo. after buying a brand new revo for around 460 shipped, i will strip it down to the base and sell everything nitro. i figure that a brand new roller will be around 250-300. my emaxx tranny will bolt right in with 4 holes drilled. we have my friends revo striped down and are looking at it and it looks like it wont be that hard to do. after doing alot of weighing, i figure the my evo will be around 9 lbs rtr with lipo. tell me what you guys think

I agree, a brushless Revo like Dafni's is an awesome machine. I, too, will someday have a brushless Revo. I like my Revo, but I love my e-maxx(very similar to your emaxx, actually!). I would never sell my e-maxx. If(when) I do a brushless Revo, it will be in addition to my E-maxx.

I can't wait to see this build up in the works. Everyone at the track is going to be doing backflips when they see this. They already think his truck is just plain insane (one of the guys actually wants to duplicate his truck) now an electric (brushless) revo. Good luck Sick.

im still not positive im going to do this. if i run my emaxx on only 12 cells with will be right around 10 lbs 5 oz. lipo will put it below 10 lbs. i think i may just keep the emaxx, the thing is bulletproof! hey mike, ygpm

braaap11889 06.17.2005 11:07 PM

you hit zach pretty hard and nothing happened when the 13 lbs emaxx colided with the 9.5 lbs revo so the revos built proof too. But yea diffs might pose a problem. Wisks.

supermaxx4190 06.17.2005 11:12 PM

hey its only 11.5 lbs:p when are those crimefighters comin out?

Dafni 06.18.2005 02:58 PM

Good to hear, Supermaxx! Go for it.
The conversion with an E tranny is a piece of cake. Enjoy the work.

I loved to build mine. To have something unique like this is a good feeling. Also to know that people actually got inspired by the very pics I posted on the net puts a smile on my face. Thanks for quoting my truck, guys.

I'm looking forward to see more Revo conversions. There will be some interesting batt-tray designs, I'm sure. I also got some good ideas in store for my next version of the Revoxx. Just you wait :p

My truck holds up pretty good. It took a beating yesterday, I can tell you, its amazing. I still run the stock arms, but will have the RPM's on the next one. And the woods I bash at, man, they took many EMaxx arms.

But it's sad indeed, to see your Maxx go. I never pushed mine above the mild-modded level, still run the stock chassis, so I have no worries turning it into a lawnmower;) ......:L:

Keep your MAXX! it is a wondermachine you have got standing there, with the racerX and the CF frame.. Don't sell it, just be patiened if it's a money issue, and wait some more..

Don't get rid of the maxx..

You can shave of more weight by getting rid of the receiver pack. (UBEC)

You probably got UE cvd's with the 23mm hexes.. You will be seriously sorry if you sell this beauty! Imo it would be a crying shame.. Just try to lay hands on a cheap revo roller and experiment with it.

Dafni 06.18.2005 05:20 PM

Agree with Serum!!

I'm sure Mike can get you a Tranny for not much $$

supermaxx4190 06.18.2005 05:50 PM

yup, i decided this morning to keep it. like serum said, it would be a crying shame to sell it....now to find a good deal on some 6 cell 3300 packs and find an 8L motor to cut down on the weight.

Re~Mix 06.18.2005 06:04 PM

Just buy a brick of 24 3330 cells ;) Otherwise, team hurricane is having a saale on their cells while they move up to gp 3700's I think

http://www.teamhurricane.net/batteries.html looks like good prices to me. Contact them and they'd probably score you a nice deal on a few packs.

hmm..
keep your current motor...
instead going down to 12 cells ( around 780g weight)
stay with your current motor and go for lipos:
5s3p Prolites --> comparable in Voltage to your 16cells, but 6000mAh capacity and only aruond 600g weight (instead of over 1000g weight of your 16cells))

you will see much more runtime.. better handling because of lighter weight (less weight than 10cells GP 3300 !)
and more power (3p Prolites will give you even at 120A currents very good voltage !!)

supermaxx4190 07.27.2005 09:30 PM

sorry man, but i parted out my truck last month. i ordered lipos but then sent them back because i decided to sell it. but im thinking of buying a mammoth st to race down to monster madness and supercross.
