Can I do this?
 

Hey guys, I am getting sick of searching for an 8XL motor and 32p gear for it. I have found like 5 sites that normally sell the motor, and they are all "OUT OF STOCK" and there are only a few places for the pinions and all out of stock aswell. I was thinking about just ordering a 8XL 540C (built on heatsink) and then just drilling out a normal pinion to 5mm. Would this work?

If not, anyone know how much longer it will be until Mike will get the motor and pinion in stock? I realize he is busy, and I did send him an email. No reply yet. Any ideas as to who else sells the 8XL in stock aswell as an 18t 32p 5mm pinion?

Wait for him to email you back. I ordered a 9xl motor earlier, and wanted a pinion also, but it was out of stock. I emailed him, and he included it with the order.

wow... offshore is out of stock.. i ordered one about 2 months ago and i emailed the guy asking if he had any left and he said he had a full crate of motors come in a couple days before i emailed him... and now they are out of stock... sheesh!! crazy BL world out there!
