Which lenher motor for 5LBS Rustler?
 

So I have been thinking about upgrading my FLM Rustler. It has the mamba max but that thing blew up twice on me. The third one that they had send to me doesn't work and now have a hardtime getting in touch with them.

I have contacted MGM about their new TMM 16018-3 Car / Boat EXPERT+ and said that they would sell me one right now for like 193 Euro. So itchy too buy it right now. But I would rather support Mike if he would carry it soon. Now which Lenher motor would be good for my 5+Lbs rustler? I would be running 4S A123 cells tops.

The esc blew up on you? That's really odd. What setup were you running? I have five Mamba Maxes and have found them to be excellent controllers with two pole motors.

I would think the MM ESC should work awesome. A 1930 should be plenty.

I love the PC interface of the Mamba, but the ESC's did not last me long. Might be just my bad luck me getting the lemons. I even had a fan running on my ESC and still they burned up.

So the 1930 Lehner is a good choice? Is the 1930 abit longer then the 1920 versions? I saw they offered a finned can for their motors, or did I just read wrong.

What if I would only run 3S2p A123's, which Lenher would be better suited for me?

Can you please give us some more insight on the running conditions of your vehicle when you blew up the MM? I find it very hard to believe that you would have 2 fail without some outside influence. Maybe not disabling the BEC while running 4S A123's?

I used a borrowed external BEC when I did speedruns for a few weeks. But that is not when it burned up. It was while bashing in short grass and dirt running 2s2p A123. I'm running 18/87 with 4" Dirt Hawgs. I have no binding anywhere. The first time some fets blew. The second time all 3 caps blew. The 3rd one...just doesn't work for the get go. Oh, and a fan was running while they blew.

What motor?

oh sorry, it's the 5700kv mamba motor. I also run a cheapo venom 19turn brushed motor with the mamba esc.
