Dog runs faster
I have a LSP that I just converted to electric, I'm using a NEU 1515/2y with a MGM 16024 on 5 cell 5000 mah FlightPower lipo. I can't believe how slow it is! I don't have an exact speed but I'm not new to this and I can tell it's slow, maybe 25MPH.
Am I using the wrong motor, maybe the 1515/1y would be better? Or am I just not using enough cells? Thanks Tom |
1515/2Y has 1100rpm per Volt so you should use at least 8S Lipo. your mgm can handle that so just increase cell count just get 3cell flightpower pack, connect it in series and go

Ditto. You got the wrong wind for sure if your only gonna run 5S.

What they said.
If you want to stick to 5s lipo though, the Neu 1515/2.5d would work well on that voltage. |
That, or start an RC towing company. I'm sure that motor has hella-torque on 5s, nevermind 8s. :surprised:

Yup, you should have got a 2.5d with 5s (1700kv.), maybe you should add more cells if you have room/weight for it?

I think you can get by on 6s. Compare to a motor I run in my CRT:
My 1515... 1700kv @ 4s = 25,160rpm Your 1515..1100kv @ 6s = 24,420rpm That's pretty close. Mine runs about 30 mph geared 12/49... and it starts to really wake up @ 14/49... faster than a nitro at that point I think. I don't know what spur you have or what ratio the diffs are in your LSP but I think you will be happy if you go 6s and gear up. Try gearing up a lot on that 5s pack and it will start to wake up. That said... 8s would be pretty cool and very fast... and you can keep the gearing low too. That would kill a nitro even when geared like 12/51 |
