single speed revo with nitro engine

I'll probably put a big block LRP Z28 SPEC3 in my revo and i want to eliminated the first speed in the tranny.
So if i remove the first gear and lock the second gear with 4 screw like in this pics, could i use the external mechanical brake??
I suppose that this will did just like a 1/8 scale buggy with a center diff and when i'll relaxe trigger, the tranny will make turn the clutch bell as long as the revo stop?

Technically possible yes, but Im not sure I would recommend it really. Single speed nitros arent new so it should be okay though, and you will use the mechanical brakes like normal. Just remember that you will be slower off the start-line due to not having the extra torque provided by 1st gear.

Have you ever see a LRP Z28 Spec3???:gasp:
Don't worry about the extra torque, he can start this little revo in second gear without having any problems.

hey i have a revo runing a trinity draker .28 engine runing 18 bell 36 spur with a 1/8 scale clutch (savage). will i was mesing around i ajusted the trany screw so it would stay in second. well lets just say about 5 min after that my clutch bell was purple and blue and the heat melted my clutch and my spur gear ( didnt strip it but when i came to a stop it melted a notch in it) so i would keep the first gear.
