Velineon Question
Hey guys I am going to get a traxxas Brushless system and I wanted to know if there was a way to run more voltage safely? Porbably 6s max. Thanks.

I don't think 6s would be a good idea. I believe the over-voltage system of the Velineon is both hardware and software protected. As of yet I don't know of anyone who has been able to run more than 3s on it. Also I don't think you want 6s with that motor. People say it gets hot already, and with double the power going into it I can only imagine how it would react. I think the FET's in the Velineon are rated at 25V which means the system probably couldn't handle 6s anyways even if you could bypass the over-voltage system.
I think you should Email Traxxas and tell them you want to Beta-test the E-Maxx VXL.:wink: |
Sweet. I wasnt planning on going 6s just a high bar to be able to lol. I am plannig on getting the vxl mainly because the esc sounds good and is cheap. Sensor and sensor less and brushed was the main thing. It is going in when I get a touring car so it will get used mostly with 6 cells. I was asking because it may be a cheap esc to go in all my cars and trucks. Wow too many monster escs coming out eh.

The mamba max is a better esc than the velineon, more adjustable and runs cooler. I have had both, so i know. If you will be running a tc on 6 cells the vxl motor will not be spinning fast enough for any decent speed. The mamba 4600 or 5700 would be good on 6 cells in a touring car. Just my 2 cents.
