How's the Vista?
...ok :( Sucked in and spat out the other end...So HOW, without the use of a screwdriver and / or duct tape, do i get Castle Link into my sparkly new VISTA pc? Hmm? :diablo:
When I installed it onto my "sparkling new" laptop, I had to right-click on the downloaded setup file, and choose "Properties." Then select the tab labelled "Compatibility," then check the box at the bottom next to "Run this program as an administrator." Click "OK," then run the setup file again (should be V3.01, BTW). Once it's installed it should work just fine :).
UNLESS... you run vista 64 (like moi) in which case get your xp cd out!
It wouldn't work with my Vista till I installed it with the Compatibility Mode box checked. Run the setup.exe under Windows XP (Service Pack 2) and you shouldn't have any problems. Once it installed I right clicked the Castelink shortcut and under properties made sure again that the compatibility box was checked in Windows XP mode.

...Thanks fellas..I will give all of that a shot...
Success!!
...Well done boys!!! its all good...just for the record...
...Right-click on the downloaded V3.01 setup file, and choose "Properties." ...Select the tab labelled "Compatibility," ...Check the box at the bottom next to "Run this program as an administrator." ...Click "OK," then run the setup file again... ...This is essentially what MetalMan advised and it worked fine...I would have got you a screen shot of this but mine is all in Japanese and probabably not very helpful ;) |
Install XP..
that's what i did.. Vista is seriously lacking for me, i had numerous compatibility problems.. |
...Vista wont take Skype either :( Looks pretty though...
You shouldn't have to run in compatibility mode gents. When you click on "download now" on our website, then click on "I have read and understand this information, download now" it asks if you want to save the install file or run it. Choose save, and save it to your desktop. After it's done, go to your desktop and right click on the installation file...choose "run as administrator" and it will install and function just fine. :)

Joe - Have you done any testing on Vista 64 - it installs ok but you can't install a driver for the actual MM when you plug it in.
Joe any update on vista64 support?
No...there are no compatible drivers at this time unfortunately. Drivers are hard to come by for 64 bit...for any software out there. :(
