does anyone know anything about this motor, or what to compare it to?

hmmm, for the same RPM as a Feigao motor, you can compare it to what would be called an XX 1/2 L can motor, as far as power output goes.

It would be a very, VERY cool running motor if used in a truck such as a Revo, or maxx. Although you would want about 28,000rpm or less out of it to keep the power in check.

I am thinking of going for a 1521 motor myself running 23 volts.

i think this is the motor mike chose for my truggy.

All I know is that HotnCold had one in his truggy or buggy at the RCM bash and it was faster than Jesus. Not as big as I thought it would look as well. Now if Walter could have just kept his wheels on he would've been a destroyer. :)

Finnster, how would you compare the performance of his setup compared to a 7XL setup on 5s A123? (powerful!) I am feeling like I want more power than my 1512/3D motor... it's powerful, yeah... but on the top end it lacks the torque that I came accustomed to with my 7XL.

I'm running the 1578kn 1521 in my Revo on 5s and its is a sweet smooth and cool running motor. It is way more motor than you really need though. But wha tthe hell.:wink:

One thing to note is that it uses 4mm motor mount screws in the front so you standard motor mount will need to hav the holes opened up to take the 4mm screws. Other than that its about 1mm longer than a Lehner 1950, but its bigger in diameter than the 1950 with a bigger diameter rotor so it has even more torque. (like thats really necessary:sarcastic:)

Overall I think its a good motor, but you need to use its power with lower rpm and taller gearing vs. trying to spin that big boy at 35K rpm. The big motor will really pull the juice if you start spnning it really fast.

I also run the 1521 1y on 5s in my 8t. Mine has standard size screws though (guess you can get them both ways). As jhautz said you can really gear it. it is more motor then most should need but I got it for a good price and at the time everyone was out of stock on the 1515 2.5d so I figured I would try it out.
