Brushless Touring Car Questions
Hey guys, I just bought a 1/10 scale touring car and want to turn it into brushless but nothing too expensive. I was thinking about puting the MM 6900 motor into it with my MM esc on a 2s lipo. By the way, the car is a Tamiya TT-01.
Any ideas or help on this? Thanks! |
I run my touring car with 7700 on 6-cell nimh, or 5700 on 3s for speed runs. Are you racing or bashing. For racing I think that I would run the 6900 on 6 cell (or 2s)

The TT01 is not quite ready out of the box for racing, so I guess Sower is going to bash with it, but who knows.

Right, this isn't for racing. Although it's the TT-01R with the bearings, oil shocks and a few other hop ups. I plan on using it for drifting and just playing around. The reason I was looking at the 6900 is because there are two new ones on eBay for $60 each. Plus I already have a MM esc.
Ultimately I would like to go higher voltage vs. higher amps, but it's not like this is a racing car I'm trying to optimize like my truggy. I was thinking of getting a 2s 3500 lipo with the 6900. |
TT-01 is a great vehicle, inexpensive and sturdy. I have mine setup with the highest gearing, 55/25 and run a 380c 6s motor on 3s lipo. So far it has done 74mph, and with more room it should beat 80mph. Your choice of the r version was good, I have done all of those mods on mine and it runs great!

A 380c motor? Can't say I know that one. Can you give me any more info on that?
Yeah, I really like my TT-01 too. Seems like a great inexpensive car. I've also done the GPM aluminum steering assembly upgrade with bearings. Here's a picture of mine . . . before I offset the wheels: http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z180/sower13/M3.jpg |
