Dace 17mm Adapters on G2R?
Hey, I was looking for a nice set of 17mm hubs for my Revo. I don't want OFNA as I heard they are a bit loose, I also would prefer silver, black, or red (OFNA is only blue).
I heard that the Dace 17mm adapters will work. Does anyone know if they do work and if so, which ones (ones for which truggy?) Thanks |
It would require a good bit of stuff. You would have to get the RD Racing knuckles and 8mm axle kit ($200) and some Dace adapters. CRT should work, along with about 50 others. Thats the only way I'm aware of other than the Maximizer and Ofna.

Oh...are Truggy Axles 8mm?
|
Yep, they sure are. Standard 1/8 scale uses 8mm axles. I guess when we were talking about this, I didn't realize that the Dace adapters were made for 1/8 scale.
Just so others are aware of my way of adapting the Maxx/Revo to 17mm, here's what I used when I had my Revo: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXSCH9&P=7 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMDB3&P=7 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMDC0&P=M The Savage actually uses a larger bearing on the axle, so it's not a perfect fit with the wheel off. But when it's all tightened up, it's tight and won't come undone. Those nuts actually dig into the wheels when tightened enough, and I never had a single one fall off on my Revo. |
i can't imagine that gives a good alligned wheel metalman;
the savage uses a 8mm shafts, and the revo uses a 6er. the flange on the savage adapters usually press against the part where the thread changes into 8mm shaft. |
where can you get the RD Racing knuckles and 8mm axle kit?
|
tekno rc has them
|
Thanks, can you use buggy/truggy 17mm hubs with those axles instead of the 23mm ones?
|
I ran the Ofna one since 2 years on my revo and don't have any problems.
Don't know if i'am ready to put $200.00+++ on a 17mm conversion.:oh: |

i have the experience that once you tighten the wheelnut, in the way you used your hex, it can and will brake the through pin sooner. These pins are very hard and will break. Happened to me several times.

The savage wheel nuts definitely won't come off. No where near as pretty as the 23mm style but they don't come loose. I don't think that the savage hexes would be a good idea but the nuts are great.
