Which BL for my E-LST ?

Hello all!

I'm just starting an Electric LST project.
Custom chassis with Emaxx tranny.

I will use 14cells.
For the controller I think the warrior will be the best choice but what about the motor?

7XL, 9L, XL2800?

The LST is an heavy truck, I need torque, but speed as well....

captain harlock 07.08.2005 06:53 AM

It is surely a very heavy truck, but the Feigao 7XL would carry on the mission quite well.

i would suggest a lehner. maybe a xl1300 or even a xl3600.

Hi Dimit, welcome aboard!

If you read my BL Revo thread, you might guess what I would suggest at this point. I'd go for an 7XL, if I would use 14 cells.

I also thought about converting an LST, btw.

The lehner has a very good rate of effeciency and quality that would easily exceed those of the feigao, however, the LST is much bigger than the E-Maxx and it needs high amounts of torque that only can be found in the 7xl, but you wont get disappointed if you went for the BASIC XL 2400 OR 2800 as well.

I wouldn't go that far. There are plenty of torqy motors around, it's just a matter of how much $$ you're willing to kiss bye-bye.

The 7XL has a good price.

MetalMan 07.08.2005 03:51 PM

I would worry about the Lehners' shaft size in a LST. As said, a 7XL would provide the power to get such a truck moving, or at least a 10L.

thanks all!

i've just placed my order
7XL, warrior9920, strobe slipper ,)

Good choice!

The lehner XL is a bit too small, and the nice thing about the 7XL is that you can add 18 cells as well with the proper gearing!!

A BL LST!! Nice!! I thought about building one too, but i had in mind to keep the stock transmission..

captain harlock 07.08.2005 04:24 PM

Happy ride Dimit.

Dafni 07.08.2005 05:35 PM

Good choice!

Can't wait to see pics ;)

dafni, love that avatar!

The 7xl will make you very happy. this is the motor I would recommend for the big LST. I will get your stuiff on its way to you tomorrow, so you should get it next week some time. Thanks for the order, too! And welcome to the forums!
