Which Buggy or Truggy eventually

Just wondering what you guys have heard about these and if you have had any experiences good or bad with any of them.

The Hotbodies Lightning Pro 2
OFNA Hyper 7 or some OFNA buggy like the OFNA 9.5-violator OFNA has wayy too many choices. LOL
XTM X-Terminator
The XRAY XB8R
Storm CL1
Kyosho Inferno, or kanai
Thunder Tiger TT EB-4 S3, or s2 pro, or ttr-s3
Crono RS01
Duratrax Axis
Gs Racing storm or avenger
Mugen seiki
Sport Werks Mayhem
Power racing Swift

It apperas that the HB lightning, and the OFNA's have the most hop ups available which would mean they are widely accepted and well established, meaning relatively easy to get stuff for. I have been hearing a lot, and seeing alot about the Xray's being well made..any first hand knowledge in here??

I just found a few electric kits from some manufacturers. I am sure it would be easier to make one of these brushless instead of converting a nitro buggy. Any experience??
Associated B3 and B4
J Concepts BJ4
Kyosha ultima RB, or MRC SB Sport
Schumacher Cat 3000 or Fireblade EVO
Team LOSI XXX or XXX-4

The HB Lightning is a tempting candidate for a conversion.

But also the "small" 1/10 2wd stadiums are cool.

you could do something like what i did:

The Duratrax Axis is garbage, take that one off the list for sure. I'd say the Ofna Jammin' CRT-1 truggy would be the coolest, very nice truck indeed.

HotnCold 03.20.2006 07:57 PM

CRT-1 is sweet for sure...

squeeforever 03.20.2006 08:51 PM

i have heard that the parts on them wear alot faster than most.

If it's a buggy you go for then my favourite would definately be the storm CL-1.The beauty is in the details with that buggy.
The x-ray's pretty sweet too and very high quality but the cl-1 would be my choice, oversize pivot ball front end with no setup equpitment needed for precise camber adj.,ultra low diffs and lowest centre of gravity. It's a top spec buggy though so it's expensive.

squeeforever 03.21.2006 10:58 PM

gustav, gotta a link to that buggy? i havent heard of it.

Gustav 03.21.2006 11:31 PM

Can't find many good links, here it is though,http://www.gs-europe.com/

It's designed by Claude Lachat to win races(hence CL-1) and i sure it's going to win plenty this season.

It had great reviews in the UK mags.

Somebody mentioned the 1/10 scale vehicles . . . if that's the direction you're heading, you could also consider converting a Hot Bodies Lightning Stadium 10. I just did a conversion and love it. I'm using the Mamba Max system with (2) 3100 mah 3c lipos in series. That gives me 6200 mah and crazy run times. I'll have my first race this weekend.

That new Ofna Hyper 8 looks nice for a 1/8 scale buggy too. Good luck!

Welcome to the forum Sower!

This topic was getting dusty, wasn't it?! :p

Sower 09.20.2006 03:07 PM

Hey Serum - yeah I guess so. I didn't even look at the last post date. Oh well, it's probably not relevant anymore.

By the way, I really like your truggy conversion. I checked it out earlier today. It reminded me of my Lightning, but smaller. Just curious though - why not go lipo on your setup?

Thanks for the welcome!!

Serum 09.20.2006 03:18 PM

Arh.. well.. i did that setup for someone else. Thanks for the compliment though! Tomorrow i am picking up a new lightning pro-r to do another conversion with. Nowadays i am using lipo's too.. i did this project when kokam just gave birth to their 3200's 20C cells.
