revo hybrid center shaft options
what are the feasible options to get center driveshafts for the revo hybrids v2
|
Shoot Mike an email, and i give you a 100 percent change of success.
|
And when you get an answer from Mike, please, post it here because i'am asking the same question.
I think that this will be a beautiful headache to find a center drive shaft who'll fit the 8mm diff outdrive on diff side and the 6mm stock revo trany output shaft on the tranny side:oh: |
My idea was to make an 8mm adapter that would fit the stock driveshafts and the 8mm pinion.
|
The problem is to find a 8mm output with a 6mm hole in it. Like that, we could drill one to 8mm.
|
I guess you don't understand what i mean.
Make an 8mm revo shaft drive-dog. |
Excuse Serum, i'am a french guys and some english expression i don't understand.
Could you explain what's a 8mm revo shaft drive-dog? Thank you! |
OK Serum i think i understand now, you say to make a special adapter to slip over the 8mm pinion diff, to use the stock revo slider?
I was thinking to just drill the stock revo center shaft yoke to 8mm and drill a hole in the 8mm diff pinion, like on the V1 modified pinion, and use the stock revo drive shaft pin to "lock" the stock yoke on the new diff pinion. |
2 Attachment(s)
here is what i mean;
These are the center revo shafts, and here is the cup i drawed to be made in steel to fit the revo driveshafts (it only uses an 8mm hole and is slightly larger on the end) |
Well, beautiful part.
But where can i buy it?? do you sell it? Or is Mike sell it? |
Mike has the STEP and IGES drawings (files needed for CNC machinery), i made it for him half year back or so. I don't know if they ever went into production
|
So all i have to do is e mailed Mike and hope that he can make it for me, but i know that he's very busy..........
If he can't make it, i'll have to look for another solution. Thank you Serum! But if i drill the stock drive shaft hole to 8mm and drill an hole in the diff pinion to put the stock revo screw pin, do you think that this will hold? |
Though the plastic yolk/ joint might be weakend abit by drilling it out to 8mm, it should be okay since they are very beefy items. The only problem I forsee is drilling a hole into the 8mm pinion shaft- there is a nice big flat spot, but it is hardened steel I think....
