Brushless HV crawling rig
This is what the rig looks like now. I went with the HV maxx for more top end and to still have killer torque for crawling applications. Nothing here is traxxas except the Emaxx trans that will be going in it once i finish destroying the gears in the stock setup.

Crawling is like fishing.. Nice and relaxing..

Indeed it is

How did this work out grimm?
I have a plan on something simaliar. |
It worked -really- good, After getting an EmaXX transmission and beefing up the suspension that is. With all that speed this truck is really easy to roll over, often times busting off some or all of the ball joints. I bought some metal joints, and made some custom mounting brackets for them since the plastic in the axles is weak and brittle. frigging fast though, really fast. and you can always set the throttle low with your TX for crawling (and soften your suspension, I used screw adjustable piggy back shocks)http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/8441/dcp2874bg5.jpg

Thanks alot grimm. Do you still have this project?
I bought me one. I was thinking of trying a mamba4600 in it. If I go with the hv maxx I was leaning to a 2s lipo pack instead of 4s. Half the volts for half the speed. Should still be fast enough. |
no, I actually sold this truck a year ago to buy gun parts...lol but I do want to make another it was fun to build and drive.
|
was that JPS stuff on it?
|
Well it happens the sale of rc stuff.
thanks for the info for sure. Post pics when you get the other one. |
