Any recommendations? 4wd buggy or truggy 1/10th brushless
 

Hello,
Does anybody have any recommendations on a 4wd buggy or truggy 1/10 electric that can be made brushless? This would be a new project that I want to start.

One option is to get a CRT.5 and the RC-Monster extended chassis. When used with wide-offset 1/10 truck wheels and truck tires, the extended CRT.5 is something like 1/11 scale.

Kyosho has recently introduced their new line of 1/10 4wd nitro buggy/truggy that appears to be a good candidate for conversion, but they aren't out yet.

There really is no true 1/10th truggy that I know of. A lot of guys here are doing the CRT .5, it is about 1/12 scale but tough enough to handle high powered brushless and is a true truggy.

The extended crt.5 from mike would be the easiest to do. You could do an LS10 like everyone on the site has already done (i just finished mine) all it needs is a wing and itd be a truggy, you can buy a wing and mount off the L10 and it would bolt up pretty easy i believe, i havent tryed it yet but soon i will.

There are quite a few choices in the buggy department. I recently bought a BJ4WE - great car.

Would the mamba max 5700 system work in the crt.5 brushless conversion?

a good combo for the crt .5 would be a 9L motor with a MM esc and 3s lipo


many have ran the mm motors and have not liked the results, they get pretty hot

Yeah, I think I'm going to go with the crt.5 project. What do you think? Sould I buy a new one? The kit that sells with no motor. Or buy a used one?

id look into the lehner 1930 motors, or the neu 1509 motors. they are very lightweight, and super powerful, but you need the dough for those. they lahner goes for $238

considering the crt .5 in the video was on 2s lipo, which is equivelant to a 6 cell nimh pack, that motor has power. weighing in at only 230 grams, its one of the lightest motors of that size available, considering the feigao L size motor weighs in at ~310 grams.

BTW, id go with a new crt .5 because if you buy used you dont know what the things already been through, like condition of the diffs, etc.

also, that 1930 would be insane on 4s lipo, check out this esc.

I'd like to stick with the 11.1v 3s because I have a brand new lying around and also go with the mm for the same reason. I do some reseach on the motor.
I'll also go with Mikes extended chassis.

I have a CRT.5 with the RCM kit. I am going to run a MM and a Mega motor.
I just picked up a LS10 so I can compare the two.
Does anyone know if there is a motor mount that will work with the LS10?

I have to agree with this. the bj4, b44 or the kyosho lazer should all be great 4wd buggies. I picked up the associated b44 about 2 weeks ago but haven't been able to try it out on the track yet do to other issues.

do you guys think the team academy SB v2 pro buggy would be a good 4wd 1/10 buggy?
