Upgrade/rebuild Feigao 10L??????
I have a Feigao 10L that has recently bit the dust.I've owned it for years and its always been my "lad rat" motor in numerous projects before the final motor went in place. After years of abuse, just driving around INSIDE the house for less than one minute and the temp is at 150 degrees. My question is,is it possible to upgrade/rebuild this motor for more use? I know that the Feigao motors are more "econo-minded" qualitywise, but can I replace whatever parts needed to make it usable and not "econo-minded" qualitywise? Thanks

I would think replacing the rotor would do it. I have a 10xl that is still needing a rotor. I found only one so far, but was lost in the mail....so, IF you can find one and your windings are ok, I would try that.

Do you remember what company you got yours from?

It was from someone here. He had an extra one. But the damn Post Office are idiots!

I will post when I get home but I have the contact details for a chap at feigao that may be able to help

IMO 150 degrees after ~1 minute of driving means you have problems elsewhere. Or, the motor was geared WAY to high on a REALLY heavy truck. But if you're sure it's the motor, I'd just replace it completely. They aren't that expensive, really.

I see. It was probably a shorted winding in the stator of the 10L which is not worth repairing at all, even if you could. A motor getting to those temps in such a short time can't be caused by a weak rotor field alone. Good to know the 'Maxx is up and running again. Is it slower with the Hacker 12L? Seems like the kV would be far off from the 10L Feigao.
