new BP 100a ESC; any good?
http://cgi.ebay.com/BP-100A-HV-BRUSH...QQcmdZViewItem
can this be used for car? if so, sounds like a good deal. |
you would have to get some low mah batteries to be able to use this esc i would think. like 5ah or less. which isnt horrible but you would be pushing it to the max. or am i wrong?
that is.. if its a 20c battery |

well if the battery puts out more than 100A continuous wouldnt that cause it to overheat the esc?
|
The amount of amperage that a battery gives out, depends on how hard the motor is working. When it works harder, it will pull more amps from the battery, when it has a light load or is not working very hard, it will not pull very many amps.
|
100a is the batteries maximum out put. It's only going to put out as much as the motor can use. And if the motor specs say 100a maximum, that doesn't necessarily mean the motor's going to be using 100a either. It all depends on the load on the motor.
That esc is probably for planes isn't it? Meaning it might work, but you'd need a pistix adapter and mechanical brakes. |
YOu could buy a MM for close to that price. Why buy it then? What are you gaining? IMO that is.
|
It can do much higher voltage than the MM.

You'd be better off buying the OEM RC Sentilon 100amp 12s Lipo airplane ESC @ only $98:
https://www.unitedhobbies.com/UNITED...idProduct=4691 Don't forget the programming card for only $7 more! https://www.unitedhobbies.com/UNITED...idProduct=2169 I can get MM ESCs @ $100, but as Patrick stated, it's HV. |
I think that's for a plane... the OEMRC can do 12S @ 100A (4400 Watts?) for only $100..
if it was for a car... that would be a d*mn good deal... Edit: You beat me to it.. LOL |
