3Racing chassis
I just found an interesting new product from 3Racing. I guess the Nitro fans will love it:
http://www.3racing.com.hk/revochassis.jsp |
i heard 3 racing was a crap company, and that they sell poor quality stuff. Is that true? Also, how does a longer chasis help you?
|
No, that is wrong.
One time i bought integy shocks (the silver types for the mini-t, which are made by 3racing) they and all the other parts i got from 3racing for my mini-t are topnotch. fit perfect (unlike some GPM parts) I had a problem with those integy shocks, but it took integy about 3 days before they replied my email.. (sent them in, we will look at them) i am from Holland so it would have took me about 3 weeks (excluding the time they needed to conclude that i was right, which they could also have seen in the detailed pictures i included in that email) It took 1 email to 3racing, and a few hours later, i had a reply, to give them my address, and 4 days later i had the needed o-rings at home.. They are very friendly, very willing to help out, and they deliver good products for a very nice price. (their products are better than the GPM stuff) |
Thanks Dafni and Serum, I love that titanium color for anodizing that they have.

It looks promissing, but i have never heard of 6063 aluminum. I wonder if they meant 6061 ?. Does any one know how much it is ?. I found someone this is his email. He makes extend chassis from 1 inch & up price starts at $115.00.
|
I just saw the price for the 3racing chassis is $68.00. Not to bad i guess i wonder if its cast or stamped ?.
|
My bet is stamped, but I don't know for sure.
|
If its stamped thats okay because so is the stock one . But i still have never heard of 6063 aluminum, maybe its a misprint.

This is from http://www.mcmaster.com :
Aluminum Alloy Performance Characteristics All aluminum materials are nonmagnetic unless indicated. But, 6063 is better for working with, and 6061 is better for being used (if that makes any sense). |
A hardcore skidplate will sort out the stiffness issue. never mind thats for stock wheelbase
|
Thanks Metalman. Interesting piece of info.
|
Thank's metal man very useful .info

You can bet I will have them as soon as I can. One for my Revo, and the rst for my customers! :)
Daf and hippie, you could use this chassis on your electric revos as well, you know. The conversion would still work, and leave enough extra room for an extra cell(not like it is needed, but it becomes an option). |
Acctualy mike they are called( DAFNIVO"S) LOL> I already had that thought but if they are extended infront of the tranny like the ballistic chassis the area where the battery goes is the same as stock . I saw a ballistic chassis this weekend at the state race and the guy said they are the same size as the stock chassis behind the tranny.
|
Yepp, that's what I thought. It's prolly only extended in the front. But might be a good idea anyway.
I saw a thread somewhere about extending a chassis in the rear or on both sides. Maybe I'll try this myself, a guy here can do the welding for me (he demonstrated the technique on scrap alu to me, looks clean and solid) Maybe I'll just find a use for those spare chassis' of you, Mike;) Let's see. |
