Xray Xt8

Hey guys, its been a while so please bear with me.

I have in my possesion an Xray xt8 ready to be converted, and i am only going to pick out the best possible components for it!

My thoughts were;
get the motor mount and chassis brace off mike
the flightpower battery holder;

just to make my life easier, are these accesories a direct fit? I have no problem doing a little modding to make them fit, im just asking out of curiousity.

I was planning on using the flightpower 4s1p 5000mah lipo, paired up with a neu 15xx/and a MM/with ubec. What neu would be best for my ride, ill only be racing it on my track and other tracks around me.
Do you guys think its work the wait for the tekin R8 or MMM?
When i had the MM in my lsp, i was pretty happy with how it ran, but im not sure how the neus would run with the MM?

Thanks for any help, guys! :smile:

everything you mentioned is a direct fit. The battery box is universel for all the buggy's. You may have to drill a hole or two for the box but that is it. On the motor i hear the 1512-2d 2600kv & the 1512-2.5d 2000kv are popular there is also the 1512-1.5d 3200 kv, & some use the 1512-1.5y 1900kv.

Some debate around here regarding the MM and the bigger Neu's. Some have had success, some have had problems. You might look into a compro if there is room in the budget. Without running the actual numbers through the speed calculator, I would guess you would be wanting a 1515 1y (2200kv) or 2.5d (1700kv) but thats pure speculation. A 1512 might work as well.

From what i've heard the 1515 series of motors are considerd more of a truggy motor than a buggy motor.

XT8 = truggy
XB8 = buggy

1515 will be a great motor for the XT8. The MM on the other hand may be a little out of its league with the Neu and the big truck. The MGM or Quark would be a better chioce with the rest of your setup.

My bad :lol:. I thought it was the buggy & not the truggy :lol:. I have the 1515-1y in my jammin truggy & it's a great motor.

Thanks for the replies guys!
Hmm, maybe i should wait till the MMM comes out, since i dont really want to dish out $275 on the esc itself, than another $280 for the 1515. As for the MGM, id love to try one but ive heard horror stories on the service department at MGM.

What is the RPM "sweet spot" on the neus?
Around 30-35K, correct?

30-35K rpm works perfect for me, I have a quark 125 that I love, it runs wonderfully with my neu, others have had problems with quark but for me with the RCM external heatsink it has been solid, quark also has great service. I personally would wait for the MMM it should be sweet
