Muggy diffs in a maxx

Muggy diffs in a t-maxx, why you ask?? because in LST-2 diff cases these things are almost indestructible!

comparison of stock vs muggy, gray VS black (and im sure that 99% of aluminum bulks are cut like the black old school bulks)
any one with the FLM chassis could you please measure the height of you frame braces, im planning to use those but up side down thanks :)

So, what mods are need to do this(to the bulks/diff case)? It looks pretty cool!

Bye:mdr:

Very interesting, are the muggy diff cases the same as the lst/aftershock cases? These are the real hybrid diffs, parts from all over the place!

they are almost the same, difference is different pinion ring gear tooth count.

are these alot stronger than the maxx diffs?

Yep, the lst/aftershock/muggy diffs are very similar to std 1/8 scale diffs, 6 gear spiders and you can get TiN coated gears for the lst 43/13 ration, which should help them last. I think my new 20xl hv maxx will use this mod, thanks its me for the great idea!

here you go George and for any others that have not seen the inside of a LST/muggy/8T diff.
very nice helical cut ring and pinnion

some have asked and yes the diffs are very very strong, my twin motor has yet to kill one yet.

In the above pic, what did you use as the metal shim to make up the difference in diameter between the muggy diff case and the hole in the maxx bulkhead?

Also, how did you get the retainer/locator ring to fit the nose(pinion) area of the muggy diff? The lst diff case I took a look at was larger in diameter than the inside diameter of the ring.

You can also get the ti-ni for the muggy ratio (45/11), just use Mayhem ST gears.

Drill/ dremel and PVC pipe for the spacer, try to get a tapered 1/2 PVC so when you slip them over the diff they wont pop out the bulk head.

you look right at the diff and you can see how much I drilled the yoke thingy, all of this only take about 15-20 minutes to do.
