novak hv esc question

My friend asked me if anyone uses the novak esc w/ a high end motor w/ a 2 battery setup with success.

The only motors that it will run are sensored, making the novak motors the best bet. Some people have success with the hv maxx system in emaxx trucks and 1/8 buggies. From what I can tell it will not put out enough power for higher speeds, 35-40 may be the best you will do before it starts to get hot.

the novak controllers only work with sensored motors; the newer updated sintered rotors are great, they run stone-cold and are in my eyes considered high-end. Too bad they use a 3.2mm shafts, but novak is about to change that.

the only thing that bothers me is that they use a relative small rotor and a high KV to compensate their lower torque. While their older rotors ran hot, the new rotors work a lot better.

I don't know what application he is using his setup in? (and what setup he has, if he is using the older 4400 without a sintered rotor?) that rotor is a 30 dollar upgrade and well worth the money.

It would be slick if novak would bring out a slightly larger motor with a lower kv. I would buy one just for the low speed smoothness. Just thinking that maybe a hv 6.5 would be a nice setup in a crt.5 or ls10? Run it on 3s or some smaller 4s packs and gear it way down. Still would have plenty of speed and should run very cool with the upgraded rotor.
