crt .5 servo saver

i was wondering if anybody else has brown their servo saver steering arm/linkage? just broke mine today, and was just wondering if there was anything else to replace them with, or just the stock. also i was looking at my friends crt 1/8 and notice that his chassis brace on the front and rear are both alum. and on my crt .5 they are plastic. so was wondering if there are any alum. upgrades for it.

Which part exactly did you break? Somehow during a race I managed to break the arm on the servo saver that attaches to drag link. The drag link piece is fine, but the servo saver arm isn't... It's been sitting like that for a few weeks now.

This is funny, I was racing yesterday with my crt.5ext and broke the servo saver arm off(the arm that attaches to the servo link to the servo). What I did was to delete the servo saver all together; I took a right angle (L) servo arm, drilled it out and put the bearings in it. Then I used tubing to get it to the right height, attached ball links and stuff. Works like a charm, now I just need a servo saver on the servo....

I'll see if I can get a pic up here....

Bye:mdr:

i think i'm in the same situation as you metalman. but its the arm that attaches to the tie-rod to the steering. and also either of you know bout the i guess the chassis braces.

Ah, then you're in the same boat CG was in.

well the servo link to the actual servo is ok, just the tie-rod to the right wheel

Did you guys change the spring out? My crt.5 came with another spring that is suposedly softer, which should help the saver give and not break either the arms or the servo.

My steering already felt pretty soft with the spring that is on there. I don't know which one it is, but it still didn't give enough (obviously).

Here are some CNC chassis braces:
