Neu 1515 1y
It is almost time to order the motor for my e-revo project. This Friday my wife releases the first round of 2008's RC budget to me. I want to get a Neu 1515 1Y. Mike shows out of stock on them. I have mailed him and sent a PM last week with no response asking if he would be able to hunt one down.
If anyone talks to Mike could you guys ask him about it? I really want to give RC-M my money based on previous experience. Also will a 1515 1y/s with rc-m heatsink be the same as a 1515 1y/f? I would assume so, but figured I'd ask before I spend a good chuck of my budget. |
The smooth can neus will not fit the RCM heatsink, they are a different diameter.

Thanks, I was unaware of that. In the event I have to get a smooth can is there a heat sink that does fit them?
|
I got a 1515/1y from Impakt and have one from Mike here that should be here today ...keep checking both sites and order as soon as you see it in stock ...they go fast...still waiting for the MGM controllers to come in ...order those fast too.....lol

I found a smooth can 1515 1y, I will buy tomorrow when I get my round 1 budget from wife. Are there any known heat sinks that will fit or will heat on 4s and occasionally 5s geared 17/38 just not be an issue?

I run my 1515 1Y on 5s geared 16/38 and the motor has never been warm enough to worry about needing a heat sink.

Dicky looking back at my temps I don't you need anything. That was heavy bashing on 4s in an E-Maxx.

that's cool. I'll accept 150 as my threshold. If it goes over that during the summer I'll worry about a cooling solution.
|
My motor just arrived as well as the pinion and rear dust cap. My question now is do i need to get that front cover/mounting plate that Mike sells or will it be protected enough my the motor mount?
|
You can, your motor should be fine for awhile. I however went to the hardware store and pciked up a thin sheet of aluminum and cut my own cover. It's thinner and nto as nice, but works for the purpose.
|
If I were to buy the rc-m plate does the motor have enough shaft length to work with the rc-m motor mount and revo tranny? I drive in very dusty and sometimes sandy conditions. or mud....
