Best Cooling Fan for Mamba Max?

What's the best fan to get to mount to the Mamba Max heatsink?

Now that Castle has updated the firmware for the MM, which promises better startups, I plan on testing the MM again.

It's time to see if it will run 12 pole outrunners. I know the little booger tends to run hot though.

I remember seeing a small fan (25mm) or so that would mount directly to the heat sink.

Anyone remember where to get that?

Here you can find a 25mm fan: http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...ducts_id=20590
and here a 30mm fan: http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...ducts_id=21971

I was using the 25mm one my Mamba Max for a long time, with it my MM never got hotter than 125f.

I was using a 5v 25mm fan from allelectronics.com but they dont seem to have it any more.

The 25mm fans fit the heatsink perfectly and the one BL-P linked above looks perfect.

Here's the one I use from digikey.com, it's 25x10mm and 3.5cfm, @5v (highest cfm I've found). $11.47 plug some shipping. Runs realy well on 6v too.

I use 25mm 5v fans from the fanvan on Ebay - I also run 2 on the RCM feigao motor heatsink...

I think I use the stampede rear body mount support screws which fit great into the MM heatsink.

This is the best fan I have seen: novak 25mm fan. I just plug it into the rec and bolt it to the mm heatsink with m3 machine screws. I also space it off the heatsink 1/4" or so, that seems to help flow and cooling. Or send it to Artur and have him do the stage 1 mod. That cured my heat issue and ran fine with a 7xl on 4s in a heavy 1/8 buggy. With the new software and his mods I have a feeling the MM may work with outrunner and high loads better!

This is the fan I intend to run on my MM, It's a 25 x 25 x 10mm fan w/ a 3.5 CFM rating. Under $15.00 shipped.:yipi:

I like using the 12v models right off of the lipo (4s), you can attach the fan leads right at the circuit board on the MM and keeps the tiny wires out of harms way.

metalman - thats it

The fans on FanVan are only producing 1.3 CFM @ 7000 RPM on 5v.

The one I listed produces 3.5 CFM @ 13000 RPM on 5v.

The price on the e-bay fans is very good, but the higher rated one isn't that much more expensive.

Thanks i'll note that for next time if these go...

Your welcome, hope I didn't come off as an ass.

I'm pretty much a nOOb at this 1/8 BL stuff, I guess I'm just being overly careful, if the 1.3 CFM fan is working, why not use it.

I use these fans.
