Revo BL Gearing Question

Hi all - This forum is the main reason that I decided to convert my Revo 3.3. After buying the following:
Feigao 8XL
MM 1/10 esc
6000mAh, 7.4V, 2 cell

My question is what pinion should I use if I plan on keeping the stock spur gear (38T)? Specifically, I am looking at what pitch I should get as I think I'll just go with 18T.

I went to buy a pinion and there are only 8 billion different pitches. Of course, I was unable to find the answer to the question I'm posting for the forum.

Thanks.

you need mod1 pitch. You can buy 5mm bored mod1 pitch pinions from the rc monster store. I havent converted my revo yet, but from every thing I've read I imagine you will need much more battery power than what you have.

You'll want 2 of those 6000mah 2s packs, and connect them in series for 4s total (14.8v). One 2s pack won't be enough to get decent power in an MT.

Welcome to the forums!

Yes, like Sammus said, they're Mod1 and you need 5mm bore for Feigao XL motors. On this site, you'll also see gear options that are hardened, but don't use those unless you are running a steel spur (which you aren't). As far as gearing, take a look at the calculators in my sig. It'll help you figure out the gears you need for the speed you want.

Thanks for the info. I just ordered the 18T 5mm/mod 1 pinion. I'm not too concerned with top speed at the moment. I'm too busy just bashing around.

Additionally, I bought the same 2S lipo and another 5S. This conversion has been a bit pricey, but I keep "over the long run, it'll be cheaper" in mind.
