The current bid is .

$222.50

Oh man - should have taken the BIN at 220!

The buy it now option seems to be gone though.

BrianG 02.01.2008 04:19 PM

As soon as someone places a bid, the BIN option disappears...

Serum 02.01.2008 04:28 PM

didn't know that was an option..

BrianG 02.01.2008 04:55 PM

It's not. If you set it up as an auction and also have the BIN option, as soon as someone places a bid, the BIN goes away. IMO, the only way for it to make sense is to make a BIN-only auction, or set the starting bid at something fairly close to the BIN.

Brian are you sure about that ?. When i sold my racebomb i had a buy it know price. the BIN price stayed on the screen untill my reserve price was meet. When that price was meet the BIN option disapeared.

BrianG 02.01.2008 05:27 PM

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. The bid has to exceed the starting price and/or the reserve price.

t-maxxracer32 02.01.2008 05:54 PM

ya i ddint understand the purpose of it either.

does anyone know why this changed?

cause it wasnt always like this.

maybe people got pissed because they didnt BIN?

ClodMaxx 02.01.2008 06:01 PM

he doesn't have a reserve price. the BIN disappears right away when someone bids, no matter the amount. it only stays up as an option when you have a reserve price, and it isn't met.

Duster_360 02.02.2008 03:34 PM

^^^^ Clodmaxx has it right, not sure why ebay structured it that way, but I've used BIN after there were other bids on an item. Not sure that made me popular with the previous bidders, but it was a sure hit with the seller.

I guess in some cases it lets the seller get his reserve when otherwise he might not have been able to through bidding. Not every auction sets off a bidding frenzy as some seem to do.
