How much was this chassis new and how rare are they? its selling for over 800 in the first 2 days on ebay

First one Ive seen on ebay in a long time. They are pretty rare now.

As for whether its worth it or not.... It all depends on how bad you want it I guess.

This seller has sold two others for a buy it now price of $800. The Lightning chassis is was produced in smaller numbers than the nitro UE thunder chassis. I'm not sure I'd call it rare, but I paid more than that for the one I bought a few months ago. Mine was in flawless shape (was a show truck) and came with Emaxx 2 spd trans, UE TI center dogbones, servos and the rx.

Its nice to see them go for that much since its telling me I didn't overpay for mine. If you want one, gotta be in the right place at the right time and pay the going price.

thats crazy for something like outdated standard maxx chassis.
for $800 is a brand new brushless truck :)

No doubt that UE makes top quality stuff...but I recommend you at least look at FastLane Machine (FLM) or GorrillaMaxx before you buy. UE is pretty hard to find parts for and unless you are a hardcore collector, I don't see the benefit to owning the chassis. Other brands out there are almost as good and cost a lot less. FLM offers a lifetime warranty on their parts...

There are lots of us that have this chassis, and have paid mostly from $300 to $400 for them. I understand people trying to get more, but that is why our haousing market is so jammed up now, because of the greed some people have. Like Sikes said you can buy an FLM for $90. and honestly it is just as good as far as performance goes. Sure the quality and polished look of the UE chassis is much better, but operationally it is probably equal. I have both and love the way both of them work out. The UE chassis is truly a work of art, but paying $800 is totally up to you dude. I

t would be nice if UE would buck up and produce more of them for the market. It is not as if they would lose money on the deal. I bought a complete chassis, suspension, and had an almost complete UE truck on fleebay a year ago for $750:party:. Right place at the right time, and knowing how to get the last bid helps to:lol:. Seeing this crap going on I sure am happy that I got it when I did. Sorry for your struggle man.

Oh no I dont plan on getting one matter of fact I just sold my flm chassis a week ago

Don't get it!

Pay $200 for a GMaxx chassis and $600 for a decent brushless system is much better than getting this good for nothing, ancient, relic, out of date, and super shiny( to the point that you start hitting your head against the wall, whether to run it or not) chassis.

That is just plain crazy. If you build it they will come.

Question?? I have a lightning chassis setup with a Mono-block installed. I want to order dog bones from RC alloys, but he is asking me what the exact size that the front and rear needs to be. Won't this setup be the same as every other one like this? I know it is not the first one. Still I need to feed him with the measurements for the front shaft and the rear shaft so he can have them made. I have seen this question before, but also saw several different answers for the same question. What is the correct size?????:lol: Thanks guys.

Last year I bought a custom dogbone for my Lightning with monoblock to Bill, form RC Alloys.

The right size is 135mm pin to pin (outside measure) and total lenght of 139mm.

thats awsome Dude:intello:. All I was expecting was hopefully the correct measurements, but an actual marked photo is the best. Thank you so much for the help VWT4:lol:. I really appreciate the effort. Now I can order my lightning dog bones from Bill and get this truck on the road. Although I am still wating for a couple pair of stainless steel pinion gears from Dan at Kershaw to run either a single or a pair of Dewalt 920's. I think I will try just a single first and see how it runs. If I just feel that it needs more power then I will run the twin setup. Once the truck is done I will post up some photos of the build. The lightning is an absolute jewl for the EMaxx/SuperMaxx monster truck series. The look of the CNC machining and quality of UE work is priceless. I also have an FLM truck that is almost completed. I have enjoyed building both of them and it gave me a first hand comparison of them both. I hope to put in the MMM for the FLM chassis. I am on the fence about what motor that it will sport though. There are just sooooo many to choose from today. Thanks again VWT4.
