Yeah, you need a UBEC, it simple delivers the 5/6V to the receiver it needs. you just take the main leads and tap the high 18.5V and the UBEC makes a nice 6V of it. Unlike the becs in the escs, it uses a small transformer to create the 6V, it is way more efficient than an internal BEC.
