I run 8000 mah but you could get away with 6000, I've seen it done. The 8000 just gives you a closer weight to what is normal for the truck and more margin for runtime. It also has the advantage fo faster charge time and just more "fuel in the tank" so to speak. Some of the guys I race with have one 8000. They can get to the track, practice for 30 minutes, charge and run 3 heats and 20 minute main with the one pack charging between each race. The 8 amp charge helps a lot for that.
