I really do have mixed feelings about some of this. I am first generation American on my mother's side and fourth generation American on my father's side. English is not the first language of either of my parents. My father, having been raised a coon ass, spoke French and my mother spoke Korean.
The Amerian way of life is probably one of the most sought after things in the world. I know that if I lived in a country where doing well was not a function of how hard you broke your back, I would have to look to the future for my kids, and I'd have to do everything that I could to take them where there is more opportunity for them to enjoy life.
On the other hand, I, as an American, want to protect and preserve our way of life, this nation which has given us so much, and the sacrifices that many have made so that we can live the life that we do. To that end, we really need to start enforcing immigration laws. Having them doesn't mean anything if there is no enforcement. I don't understand why the politicians can't stand up for their country. What's with all of the tolerance?
Unfortunately, big business is playing a rather large hand in perpetuating what is going on. I was on my way to work today and realized that a bill board, that has been there, adverstising the Toyota Tundra truck was now written in spanish. What's up with that?
