I'd always say give it a shot and see, remember that one these trucks 1 tooth is a MASSIVE gearing change so I'd never move more than 1 tooth up or down if you feel like you are in the right ballpark. Personally I run either a 9 or 10 tooth, never tried anything bigger with my current setup.

It's very close in my opinion. I'll try a 14t pinion plus try different diff oil might be exactly what i need.
