I wouldn't even go to that expense. I have one of each, a 2.5 and a 3.3, and if there's any handling different, it's not noticable. I think the 2.5 corners a little better in fact, if you're into racing. If you're bashing, only do it if you want to
say you have a 3.3. Spend that money on a better brushless motor or controler. My 2 cents anyway...
I've heard about the same problems with the Vantage by the way.
