If your neighbors have unsupervised kids that are home before you are, then maybe you need to look in that direction - I had a robbery in Metairie, LA while living in a duplex - was my duplex neighbors kid - came in thru our shared attic. I set him up and caught him about 3 weeks later when he came over again thru the attic. Talk to the moms and dads, they may have seen it and if honest, you may get lucky.
