5s works really well on the 1515 2.5d (1700kv) and 6s is pretty powerful, 4s will work ok, but it just won't have the power that it does on more voltage.
What pinion you use depends on what sort of driving you want to do and what voltage your going to run. I race mine on 5s with a final drive ratio of 15.2:1 and it works well for that, but have had it geared as high as 12.5:1 (51/20) on 6s for high speed driving without the motor reaching 120f.
Smooth can neu's are 39mm in diameter and I don't know of any heatsinks that will fit because most motors are 36mm in diameter, so the heatsink will be too small.
