Go ahead and put a Lehner in a Pede, just don't run more than maybe 9 cells at most......it's stupid, in a bad way. I ran a 5300 in a Pede for quite a while, got it up to 40 on 7 cheapo GP3300 cells, I know it could have gone faster, but didn't really want it to. Sure, it was cool to see a yellow CJ8 topped monster bombing across a parking lot while wheelying half the distance, but it was a handful to drive at speed. There was still a bit of water in the Masher 2000's foam (from mudding a week earlier), so all 4 wheels were bobbling, ESPECIALLY the front....they were darn near coming off the ground. This made the whole truck begin to violently shake, and I had to fight it to keep from rolling......nerve racking, to say the least. Braking was even more fun because the rear wanted to swap ends with the front, so lots of counter steer was needed while it fishtailed down to about 20 and finally acted tame. The 5300 was easily too much power despite being geared 17/90 or so, but made for some fun bashing with the constant abundance of torque and speed......I just wish the truck could have handled better.
