Emaxx slipper Modification (strobe like) - 01.03.2008, 11:40 PM

There have been a couple of you asking me for pictures of my Robinson Racing Double Disc Slipper Kit for the Associated Monster GT that I modified to fit onto an original Emaxx transmission with the Ofna 51 tooth spur gear. I am not the first to do it here but here is some pictures and info. If you can’t find a Strobe slipper here is a nice substitute. The RR black slipper rotor has 3 legs where the Strobe has 4. The Ofna 51 tooth spur gear has 4 holes to attach bolts. This is perfect for the Strobe but you need to drill out 2 more holes. I placed the slipper rotor into the spur gear aligning 1 leg with an existing hole. Then I marked the position of the other 2 legs and drilled out 2 more holes for the bolts. You need to buy 3 new bolts because the ones supplied in the RR kit are too short to go through the Ofna spur gear. I also made the 3 holes in the legs of the slipper rotor bigger. The RR slipper disks slide right onto the Emaxx transmission input shaft. Works great. Be careful of how much slip you leave in the slipper. I had the nut backed off 1\4 of a turn and I melted the spur gear. The bolts got way to hot. I tightened the slipper up fully tight and have had no problems yet.
