I think you'll need a pretty efficient setup with high mah batteries to do 30 minutes non stop in a truggy. We've only had one 30 minute race at our track (electric only track) and I did 26 minutes of it before the LVC kicked in, but my true rc packs were starting to die, because they only took back 6400mah out of an 8000mah pack.
I'm pretty sure Aangel was doing 30 minutes with his 4s 8t, but I don't know what he did different to me and the rest of the guys at my track. Maybe track layout or driving style?
I think Sower was the one who had the 1.5D in his Crt.

If i could do 5s, I'd keep the 1515/ 2.5 in, but we are running the Nitro rc pro rules (4s limit with no mah limit) the 1700kv of the 2.5 makes mine a bit slow on 4s with current gearing (20/51 maxx/gorilla tranny and 1/8 buggy diffs) I know Mike does pinions up to a 25 tooth. Now if i put a 25 tooth pinion on my truck, I would be geared at 36 mph, but i'm sure it would be too much gear to pull. I know the motor pulls hard, but i don't think it could handle that. pinion to spur is 2.04:1 and total is 11.6:1 figuring in 5.8" tire and no growth added. Thats got to be too much for the motor to pull. Might be something to try though, it doesn't get hot and the brakes can be harsh with the 20 pinion. As far as batteries go, I'll run maxamps 8000 2s packs in parallel, or custom made maxamps 10,000 2s 2p packs. weight will be around 10 to 11 pounds
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
