RC Kaos,

There is a ton of info on this site for the crt.5. The mamba max works great, but the mamba motors tend to run hot, especially if you use 2.2 truck tires which a lot of guys like. If you do go with a mamba motor I wouldn't go any higher kv than the 5700. Most guys are running a MM esc and a Feigao L can motor on 3S. Keep your batts light. Somewhere around 250 gm or less. The car handles a lot better with light batts.

I run a Novak GTB/6.5 (6400kv) on 2S an it works great geared 12:46 with truck tires and 13:46 with buggy. I love the way it handles on the track, but mine is definitely not the crazy wheely machine that some guys have.

For my money the RCM extended chassis is awesome. But, of course with that chassis you are getting close to 10th scale.

I am planning on using the Mamba Max ESC but have been told that the Mamba motors are to powerful for this little guy and you wouldn't be able to get the right gearing which would make it overheat. What motors do most people run with?
Is it best to change to bigger tyres? Truck instead of the stock buggy ones

Thanks in advance
