I would say batteries are really your starting point - Are you looking for 4/5/6s Lipos - do you have any now?

Once you have that worked out you can determine your motor KV and ESC to use. It may be a little much (power wise) but a neu 1515 2.5D 1700kv seems to a nice choice - Bigger than a normal buggy motor but this will be a high speed car.

In terms of ESC for 4S (maybe 5s) a MM with a a few mods works great or wait only a couple of weeks and pick up a Mamba Monster.
