It's pretty much plug and play on any voltage inside it's acceptable limits for input voltage.

The programming is there to adjust it's output voltage. I believe factory default is to output 5.0 volts.

If you want to "turn it up" to 6.0 volts, let's say, then you will have to program it to do that.
