Shoe goo and fiberglass drywall tape works very well. Cut a few strips of the tape and glue them down from the inside in a cross hatch pattern. I'll sometimes use masking tape on the outside to keep the cracked pieces together while I goop it back together. This is very strong and will keep you running. I've even glued two whole halves of a shell back together in this fashion.
