Yeah mine sounded a bit like the diff was clicking when I took corners at speed, but it was just the body trying to rip the tread off the tires, until I trimmed it.
It wasn't really that hard to make the motor mount, just time consuming, but it depends on how much of that sort of stuff you've done before. If you haven't done much it's not the easiest thing to start with.
I used at hacksaw, a few different files, various drill bits, cheap drill press (I did a few of the holes with a normal drill, but it's a bit harder), dremel, 4mm tap, fine sand paper and finally a buffing wheel on a bench grinder to make it look pretty.
