The insulation is rated at 200*C I believe. You can use a small butane torch to solder to the cut wires. Again, you need to be careful not to overheat or damage any other part of the motor. A clamp-on heatsink would help. I did this with my 600XL- because I cut the OEM connectors off without thinking. It worked out well.
