FLM never did anodizing. That Rustler in the link was custom anodized, says so in the post, done by MR.

Anodizing, by definition, does add a thin layer of "material". Not much, but it does. How much depends on the method used.

In our applications you'll never note the difference though. A 3mm thread will not be affected, for example.
